Writing has been a natural way to express myself since I was a child. I wrote crime stories as a young teenager and received praise and acknowledgement for my work in literature and language at school.
I studied politology, economics, sociology, statistics, math, psychology and law. After my graduation from the Tallinn University of Technology in 2003 with an MA in social sciences, I started to direct my career towards writing and communication. My first published article was an academic contribution to the Journal of Administrative Culture about improving the socioeconomic condition of those living in poverty. In 2007 – 2008 I co-edited the mini-magazine about social entrepreneurship Good News with Paavo Piik, acknowledged dramaturge-director at the Tallinn City Theatre. My first media interview was with Kalle Lasn, founder of the Adbusters Media Agency and the latter initiator of Occupy Wall Street.
From 2010 to 2013, I contributed to Anne & Stiil, the most up-to-date women’s lifestyle and fashion magazine in Estonia. I was entrusted to cover some of the most emotionally charged and challenging topics. I also wrote a number of health-related articles. In the spring of 2013, I covered a story on the founder of Anne & Stiil and former Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Estonia Merle Liivak for Hooaeg, the premier consumers’ magazine of Tallinna Kaubamaja, among others. I’ve interviewed one of the most innovative fashion designers and social entrepreneurs around today, Oskar Metsavaht from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I have developed public messages and promoted topics such as vocational education, European Union structural support, social entrepreneurship, empathic communication, ecologically sustainable living, women’s rights, yoga, tantric sex, development cooperation, fair trade, and the exclusive Estonian jewelry brand NARD.
